Wayne directed the Australia Plays Broadway concerts in New York in 2008 and 2009. The second concert, at Carnegie Hall, starred Grammy Award winner Olivia Newton-John, Wicked’s Amanda Harrison, singer Lior, singer/songwriter Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu, the one and only Jimmy Barnes, vocalist Ursula Yovich, the multi-talented David Campbell, didj player William Barton and twin cellists Pei-Jee and Pei-Sian Ng. The incomparable Simon Burke hosted the evening, which also featured the 70-member Adelaide Symphony Orchestra conducted by Arvo Volmer.
