Wayne Harrison directed the 2009 Australia Plays Broadway Concert at Carnegie Hall in New York. The concert was the subject of the Network 10/Ovation documentary The Road to Carnegie. His other 2009 directing projects are: The Variety Gala for the Adelaide Cabaret Festival; Justin Fleming’s Origin, a feature of the Cortauld Institute's Darwin conference (The Art of Evolution) at London’s Somerset House; and Mom’s the Word Remixed for the Arts Theatre in Vancouver.

In 2008 he directed Andy Griffiths’ Just Macbeth for the Bell Shakespeare Company (Sydney Critics’ Award) and Don Reid’s award-winning comedy Codgers for Steady Lads and Riverside Theatres. Both these productions are scheduled to have return seasons/tours in 2010. He was also the Director of the inaugural Australia Plays Broadway concert at the Lincoln Center, and Director of Creation for Spiegelworld USA, directing its productions of Absinthe and Desir in New York and Miami.

From 2005-2007 Wayne was the Creative Director of the New Year’s Eve Celebrations on Sydney Harbour. His first NYE forms the climax to Lawrence Johnston’s documentary Night; his final NYE was the subject of the Discovery Channel feature Night of Nights.

Based in London, Wayne is a former CEO and Artistic Director of Sydney Theatre Company (1990-1999). From 1999-2003 he was the Creative Director of Back Row/Clear Channel Entertainment (Europe) and part of the producing team behind Gumboots, Tap Dogs, Slava’s Snowshow, Mum’s the Word and Fosse (Europe).
